Set in a dystopian, apocalyptic parallel universe where a small fraction of the population exploits the health and wellness of the majority through control of food, water, and access to medicine, this is a science fiction novel of the struggle of a young queer, neurodivergent scientist who finds a medicinal plant that saves their life. Guilted and shamed by society, this story follows their journey to independence as the contradictions and hypocrisies of the dystopia are uncovered experience by experience.
