Cornerstone Wellness is proud to announce that it is partnering with the SoCal chapter of the American Civil Liberties Union and A Golden State to promote social justice and raise awareness on voter rights.
With the arrival of the election, there is no better time than now to create lasting systemic change to create a fairer and equal world. With this partnership, a percentage of sales from every eighth A Golden State flower sold by Cornerstone Wellness before November 3, 2020 will be donated to support voter rights, drug policy, and criminal justice reform.
Cornerstone Wellness is committed to the value of inclusivity and the idea that our democracy is strongest when we can all participate in it. By raising awareness of voter rights, it is our hope that more people can make their voices be heard. It’s these voices that are needed to fight for equal and just policies. Systemic change occurs at the ballot box.
With this initiative, Cornerstone Wellness is also promoting the necessity of criminal justice and drug policy reform. Because of our role in the cannabis industry, we feel it is imperative to speak out about the injustices that still occur today. Millions of Americans have been negatively affected by draconian drug laws that excessively punish non-violent offenders. These laws and the justice system have disproportionately hurt communities of color. The war on drugs has denied many the chance of working, going to school, voting, or receiving other vital services. There’s a need and a space for change to our justice system. It begins with rethinking and reforming our drug policies.
Through its partnership with the SoCal chapter of the ACLU and A Golden State, Cornerstone Wellness is striving to bring awareness to social injustices and the power of civic engagement. We believe that a greater fairer world is possible if values of inclusivity and diversity are embraced.
